Yogyakarta Batik Museum

Friday May, 17 2013, I visited Yogyakarta batik museum. There I got the new knowledge that was how to made batik. I learned batik with motif  has been provided. I think made batik is an easy thing, but once I tried it myself it turns out that made batik was very difficult. Make a batik should have the skills and patience. Although the results of my batik is ugly, but I feel proud I can learned made batik.

In addition to learned batik, there I also met with the owner of Batik Yogyakarta museum called Mrs. Dewi. Mrs. Dewi building Batik Yogyakarta museum for decades. Initially she only collected batik fabrics that are not used anymore, and then she made became a masterpiece though, eg batik shirt. And now collection batik of Mrs. Dewi already accumulated a lot and she built a museum to store her batik collections.

Mrs. Dewi was not only collected batik, but she also collects embroidery. Mrs. Dewi  got muri record for creating embroidery along 40 meters. The embroidery she made ​​when she was keeping her husband who was ill for three years. And for three years  Mrs. Dewi constantly made the embroidery, until finally her husband healed from illness. The embroidery was not in the form by patterns and images, because Mrs. Dewi only made by origin until an embroidered make up all 40 meters. So Mrs. Dewi gived name "Random Embroidery".

Mrs. Dewi is the figure of diligent, tenacious, and skilled female. Because of her skills so she succeed built Batik Yogyakarta museum. Because now Mrs. Dewi is old and could not  walk, the Batik Museum passed down to her childrens. And then Mrs. Dewi whises Batik Yogyakarta Museum to grow and more people visit her museum and appreciate about batik.
